Enactus Members Recognised for Inspiring Greatness

Every year, the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) recognises 40 students whose contribution goes beyond their academic achievements. This year of these 40 students, five of them are from Enactus UKZN.

The five Enactus members include Mr Muhle Ndwalane, Ms Nkosingiphile Ntshangase, Ms Samkelisiwe Mkhize, Ms Nomqhele Dube and Mr Mongezi Dlamini. All of them have been inspiring greatness in different spaces within and outside Enactus.

Ndwalane, who serves as a 2018/19 Enactus executive, was delegated to represent UKZN in California’s Silicon Valley in the US at the Enactus World Cup 2018.

He was also was invited as a guest speaker at the International Social Media Conference 2018. He recently joined forces with the College of Law and Management Studies and founded The CAVE, an entrepreneurial society for students.

Ntshangase became one of five presenters on the Enactus National Competition. She was also appointed by the United Nations Population Fund to be part of the Youth Advisory Panel which advised the government on how to ensure youth participation in the development of its policies, programmes and activities across the areas of its mandate.

Mkhize led Enactus UKZN as a 2017/18 Deputy President on the Edgewood campus and was part of the Enactus UKZN team that was invited to the BRICS Business Council 2018.

She was also one of the UKZN students who were on the exchange programme to Berlin, Germany, to experience and source ideas on how they can do better to positively transform the education sector within South Africa.

Dube, an international student from Zimbabwe, led Enactus UKZN as the 2018/19 Westville campus Deputy President. She has led the Westville team with great passion and enthusiasm, enabling more progress.

Dlamini led Enactus UKZN as the 2017/18 Research and Development Officer. Also, he co-founded an innovative Hydroponics farm that uses only water to produce premium fresh vegetables.

The five Enactus UKZN Members are truly inspiring greatness and enabling human progress. ‘We have a mind for business and a heart for communities,’ said Ndwalane.

Students of such a high calibre are true ambassadors of UKZN, therefore it is necessary to provide them with a platform to highlight their achievements as well as share them with the University community to inspire others to follow suit.
