The team, following their impressive triumph at the 2020 national championships, qualified to represent South Africa at this year’s virtual World Cup in which they competed against teams from 35 countries.
Another global achievement this year was the Ford Fund recognising them as one of the top 14 teams innovatively responding to challenges brought by COVID-19.
Enactus UKZN’s activities include work and involvement in agriculture, education, renewable energy and food security, Aloe Go, sack space farming, the Pallet Project, Jonga Phezulu Agri-Hub Farming Programme and Cleanville.
Members work hard to empower the communities working side-by-side with them to create entrepreneurial and sustainable solutions.
‘I am excited that we have done it once again on the 2020 Enactus World Cup as we were representing South Africa. We are now not only the National Champions but we also made it on the Top 16 of the Enactus Worldwide network. Despite the advent of COVID-19 this year, our team has been really inspiring greatness and demonstrating the spirit of social entrepreneurship in our communities,’ said Muhle Ndwalane, current President of Enactus UKZN.
Acting Executive Director of the Corporate Relations Division, Ms Normah Zondo, said Enactus UKZN continued to inspire greatness by representing the University positively and showcasing innovative and creative ideas.
‘We are very proud and excited about the performance of this group of young entrepreneurs who have the potential to change our society for the better,’ said Zondo.
