A UKZN doctoral student under the supervision of Professor Mahmoud Soliman in the Pharmaceutical Chemistry Discipline, Mr Clement Agoni, has undergone training in the United States at an event co-hosted by The Alliance for Climate Protection/The Climate Reality Project - a public charity organisation founded by former United States Vice-President Al Gore.
The purpose of the event held earlier this month was to train climate reality leaders under the Climate Reality Leadership Corps programme during which they are equipped with knowledge and tools needed to spread the message about the urgency and solvability of the climate crisis.
Participants were addressed by Gore who did a multimedia presentation and coached them on how to effectively convey science and facts about climate change to future audiences.
Agoniwas selected as one of 30 exceptional leaders in the world to represent the Global Shapers Community of the World Economic Forum at the important training dedicated to finding solutions to solve the climate crisis. As a climate reality leader, Agoni is tasked to head discussions on climate crisis issues through seminars, presentations and stakeholder deliberations.
