The NATESA students welcome Unyazi LweZulu at the Howard College campus with a parade.Unyazi LweZulu Graces Howard College Students with his Presence
The Nazareth Tertiary Student Association’s (NATESA) ceremony recently held at the Howard College sportsground was graced by the presence of Nazareth Baptist Church, leader of eBuhleni Home, iNkosi uNyazilwezulu.
The event was inspired by the need to address the social issues that confront students on and off campus. Former chairperson of NATESA, Mr Sphamandla Gwala noted that these include funding concerns, academic difficulties and psychological and spiritual problems. NATESA aims to ensure that students are well taken care of while they are away from home and to ensure that they do not forget their purpose of being at university.
Unyazi LweZulu was welcomed by NATESA members and other students with singing and dancing. ‘We are very excited to have Unyazi LweZulu with us today and to receive his blessings and prayers. This is very special day’ said Ms Nompilo Mkhwanazi, a Geography student.
Amongst the attendees were Nazareth communities from provincial and national regions who wore their church attire and brought gifts.
It was also a special day for Unyazi, who, as NATESA organiser, Mr Mthokozisi Mjiyakho noted, had expressed the wish to meet and pray for his followers at UKZN.
