Association of Muslim Accountants and Lawyers-Student Chapter Launch
The Association of Muslim Accountants and Lawyers - Student Chapter (AMAL-SC) was officially launched at UKZN during an event on the Howard College campus.
AMAL, a non-governmental organisation established in 1984, is a non-exclusive, multiracial and dynamic student body that seeks to enable legal as well as Accounting students to further their career paths by empowering them and facilitating access to vacation work, community service, articles and seminars, among other benefits.
The launch involved a meet-and-greet interaction between the executive team and all in attendance. Invitations had been extended to all viable campus societies with many attending including representatives from the Student Representative Council, Students for Law and Social Justice, Black Lawyers Association and Muslim Students Association as well as several lecturers from the School of Law.
