UKZN infectious diseases epidemiologist, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for African Health and CAPRISA Associate Director, Professor Quarraisha Abdool Karim, was awarded the prestigious 2020 Christophe Mérieux Prize in the field of infectious diseases in developing countries at a hybrid event hosted by the Centre for the AIDS Programme of Research in South Africa (CAPRISA) on 30 March.
