One of the world’s leading HIV and AIDS researchers, with pioneering contributions in understanding the evolving HIV epidemic, while also fighting for the rights of those affected by HIV and AIDS, Professor Quarraisha Abdool Karim is to be honoured with an honorary doctoral degree - Doctor Litterarum et Philosophiae (honoris causa) - by the University of Johannesburg (UJ).
