Saudi Ophthalmology Award to UKZN Professor for Work in Childhood Blindness and Cataract

Professor Kovin Naidoo, the Chief Executive Officer of Brien Holden Vision Institute and Professor of Optometry at UKZN has received an award from the Saudi Ophthalmology Society, for his continuing work in preventative ophthalmology, particularly in the areas of avoidable childhood blindness and cataract.

The University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) recently hosted an Annual Pregnancy Awareness Campaign at the Pietermaritzburg campus. Organised by the HIV and AIDS Programme, the event, was attended by students and staff from across all five campuses.  The main purpose of the campaign was to initiate an ongoing dialogue about factors and consequences of unplanned pregnancies among students.
