TATA Funds Disadvantaged Postgraduate Students
Prestigious 2015 TATA Scholarships were awarded to 21 UKZN postgraduate students during an awards ceremony in the Senate Chamber on the Westville campus.
UKZN staff members are involved in the recently launched multidisciplinary uMngeni School of Water Governance Research that will see the uMngeni River Basin the subject of an examination to evaluate problems facing the natural resource and find solutions to governance failures impacting the basin.
Empowering high school pupils to make the right choice about their careers was the focus of the address by UKZN Human Resources Management Senior Lecturer, Dr Shaun Ruggunan, at the 1st Annual Durban Maritime Summit’s Trade and Careers Exhibition at the Durban Exhibition Centre.

Professor Thabo Msibi and Professor Relebohile Moletsane of the School of Education were recently appointed to the Department of Basic Education’s (DBE) Ministerial Task Team to evaluate a broad sample of Learning, Teaching and Support Materials (LTSMs) and textbooks, specifically for the development of a textbook policy on promoting diversity.
