UKZN Academic Collaborates with Hungarian Colleague
The cover of the book: Wake Up Consciousness. When Professor Kriben Pillay encountered the writings on mindfulness and consciousness by the Hungarian Psychology Professor, Frank M Wanderer; a pseudonym for the English translations of Dr Margitics Ferenc from the University of Nyiregyhaza in Hungary, they began a correspondence concerning their respective research inquiries into consciousness and human transformation.
These exchanges culminated in Pillay writing the foreword to Ferenc’s latest book Wake Up Consciousness which is an anthology of his writings sequenced to take inquirers into a step by step understanding of what is awakened consciousness.
‘This inquiry is central to my work in leadership, especially the Theory U model from MIT in transformation and innovation. But very little in academia pays any attention to this because we are so bound to an unproven materialistic worldview that is the dominant discourse. But here and there; academics, scientists, social and cultural activists as well as contemporary philosophers are emerging and are challenging this dominant, exploitative paradigm,’ said Pillay.
Frank M Wanderer has written books not only for the general public, but also published scholarly works in both Hungarian and English.
‘I asked Professor Kriben Pillay to write a foreword to my book, because he is a pioneering academic and inquirer into nonduality, the philosophy of non-separation, and a committed advocate of living an awakened life and bringing this perspective into scholarly discourse,’ said Ferenc.
