UKZN Secures Research Collaboration with TIKZN
UKZN has secured Research collaborations with TIKZN.

The University of KwaZulu-Natal has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Trade and Investment KwaZulu-Natal (TIKZN), the agency tasked with promoting KwaZulu-Natal as an investment destination.

The partnership was established through a Masters student from the Graduate School of Business and Leadership, Ms Yvonne Iyer who made Dr Muhammed Hoque, Academic Leader: Research aware that she had made contact with TIKZN which in turn had shown great interest in partnering with the University.

Speaking about the agreement, Dean and Head of the Graduate School of Business and Leadership, Professor Theuns Pelser said the partnership will greatly benefit both the School and the University.

‘Trade and Investment KwaZulu-Natal has a research and development department whose focus is on research related to business. Therefore, we have a common goal when it comes to research which will help investigate the problem currently the business society is facing which can be investigated through our student research project or by our staff,’ said Pelser.

As part of the MoU the two institutions will also collaborate in research opportunities for Masters, Doctoral and Post-Doctoral research; staff and student exchange programmes as well as possibly facilitating internship programmes for students of the University.

Trade and Investment KwaZulu-Natal will also be partnering with the GSB&L for a breakfast seminar which the School plans to organise on a regular basis.
