Ingqungquthela ngendlela yokuxhumana ngobuchwepheshe idingide ukuphusa nezindlela zokufundisa ngobuchwepheshe besimanje nezindlela zokulawula ukufunda nezinkundla zokuxhumana ezisetshenziswa ngamanyuvesi.

U-O’Malley uthe izikhungo zemfundo ephakeme ziqale indlela yokufunda ngobuchwepheshe besimanje njengendlela ebonakalayo ekufundiseni. ‘Lezi zindlela ziphakanyiswa njengeziyizindlela zokufundisa zangomuso. Umbuzo owodwa omkhulu okufanele uphendulwe wukuthi lezi zindlela ezintsha zokufunda zizokuthinta kanjani ukufunda kwabafundi nezindlela abafundi abaqonda ngayo imfundo.’

Uthe ukushintsha umumo wabafundi kudinga amakhono amasha nokuthi abasha emkhakheni weMfundo ePhakeme yibona abahamba phambili ekusetshenzisweni kwezindlela ezintsha zokufundisa ezivala igebe lesikhathi nendawo elenziwa yizifundo zakudala. ‘Isisekelo sokufundisa sisafana; izindlela zokufundisa nokufunda zingashintsha kodwa gxila ekufundiseni kwakho, hhayi indlela yokufundisa.’

Inkulumo ka-Ferguson ibigxile ezindleleni zokufunda ngobuchwepheshe besimanje ngokusebenzisa ubuchwepheshe nokuhlelela ukuqinisekisa ukuthi kufundiseka futhi kufundeka kahle. Weluleke ngokuthi kumqoka ukuhlela nokuthi othisha kufanele bazame ukuqonda abafundi. ‘Bheka izinjongo zokufunda, wenze isifundo sibe nenhloso, uqinisekise ukuthi izivivinyo nokufundiswayo kuhambisana nokuhlosiwe. Sebenzisa ubuchwepheshe ngendlela efanele ukuze kufundeke; ugweme izinto eziwubukhazikhazi – ubheke ukuthi kuyangeneka yini. Hlaziya isifundo nabafundi bakho,’ kusho uDkt Ferguson.

Ubalule ukuthi othisha baneqhaza elimqoka empilweni nasemfundweni yabafundi babo, wengeza ngokuthi: ‘Gxilani ekwenzeni umphakathi osekanayo ezinkundleni zokuxhumana ngobuchwepheshe lapho abafundi bezozizwa benamandla okucobelalana nokubamba neqhaza bazi ukuthi basendaweni ephephile futhi bakhululekile ukuzwakalisa noma yimiphi imibuzo kofundisayo.’

Enkulumweni ka-Spilde othisha bathole amasu amasha nezindlela ezintsha ngezindlela zokusebenzisa izinkundla zokuxhumana ngobuchwepheshe zokugxilisa nokuqinisekisa indlela yokufunda ngobuchwepheshe besimanje kubafundi. Kubalulwe izinto zokusebenzisa nezindlela zezobuchwepheshe ezimbalwa ezigqugquzela ukufunda okusezingeni eliphezulu.

U-Spilde ubalule ukuthi ama-blog, uFacebook, i-YouTube ne-Instagram kungasetshenziswa ukuqinisa ukufunda ngobuchwepheshe besimanje ngenhloso yokuphakamisa igama lesikhungo. ‘Kuthuthukisa indlela abafundi abafunda ngayo (izindlela zokucabanga ujule), kukhuthaza abafundi ukuthi basukumele imfundo yabo nomsebenzi (ukusebenzisana nokuqeda iziqu) futhi kuveze izindlela ezintsha zokuhlola nokuveza amakhono amasha kubafundi (ukubuyekeza izifundo nokwanda kokuqasheka kwabafundi).’

Weluleke abafundisayo ukuthi ‘bakhumbule ukwamukela uhambo “lokudlulela” kwelinye izinga.’
