Mr Sizwe Sidaza, a Bachelor of Arts Honours (International Relations) student is the proud recipient of the prestigious UKZN Distinguished Student award. The award recognises and rewards students for outstanding academic achievement coupled with excellence in community engagement.

Hardworking Bachelor of Education student Mr Lindokuhle Ngcobo, relied on his grandmother’s pension for survival but that is about to change. Thanks to the prestigious Hugh Africa Scholarship, which is awarded annually to a top new entrant choosing to study Education at UKZN. Ngcobo, will now be able to afford his University fees.

Arts student Mr Andrew Francis Akpan, a Nigerian national, took a chance by coming to study at the University of KwaZulu-Natal knowing that he did not have enough funds to cover his tuition. He says this is probably the bravest decision he has ever taken.
