Isifundiswa sezeMfundo uSolwazi Bheki Khoza uthole i-UKZN 2020 Distinguished Teachers’ Award (i-DTA).

Lo mklomelo, ohlonipha othisha ababenegalelo elihle nelingapheli kubafundi nangaphandle kwasegunjini lokufunda, utholwa yibo bonke abafundisa e-UKZN, futhi ugqugquzela iqophelo eliphezulu lokufundisa kuwo wonke amazinga.

‘Ngiyabonga ngalo mklomelo ongikhuthaza ukuthi ngiqhubeke naloko ebengikwenza,’ kusho uKhoza. ‘Ngikholwa ukuthi i-DTA ifakazela ukuthi noma ngabe iziphi izinhlelo ebengiyingxenye yazo ekufundiseni, ocwaningweni, ebuholini, ekufundeni nasemphakathini zineqhaza elikhulu entuthukweni yeNyuvesi, intuthuko yami nentuthuko yomphakathi.’

Uthi endleleni afundisa ngayo, naluleka ngayo labo abenza ucwaningo nasocwaningweni lwakhe ubheka izidingo zabafundi, ezokufunda, ezomphakathi nezokusebenza ngezindlela afundisa ngazo, alekelelana ngazo, nacwaninga ngazo okukhona kuzona ukweseka ngezikhathi zokufunda nangaphandle kwasegunjini lokufunda nangokweluleka ngocwaningo. ‘Ngihlale ngikhuthaza abafundi ukuthi bazazi ukuthi bangabantu abanjani bese kuthi ngaloko baqonde izidingo zabo ngezifundo zabo bese basebenzisa amakhono abo ukubhekana nezinselelo zomphakathi nezomsebenzi abawenzayo.’

Izindlela uKhoza afundisa ngazo naluleka abafundi abenza ucwaningo ngazo zincike ekuboneni nasekuqondeni konke okufundwayo okufaka nezindlela zobuchwepheshe zokufunda. ‘Ezintweni zesilabhasi kukhona izinjongo zemfundo (izinhloso, okuphokophelwe nemiphumela), umongo, izindlela zokuhlolwa, isikhathi, indawo yokufundela nengqalasizinda ekhona, ukufundisa, ukufunda, amaqembu nothisha ozifaka endaweni yomfundi.

‘Ukusebenza ngalezi zinto zesilabhasi kumqoka kimina njengoba kungenza ngiqonde ukucabanga komfundi ngamunye nezidingo zakhe zokufunda, noma ngabe kuqondene naye noma kuqondene nomphakathi noma nomsebenzi. Uma ngifundisa noma ngeluleka abafundi abenza ucwaningo ngisebenzisa indlela yobuso-nobuso ukuqonda izidingo zomfundi ngaphambi kokuthi sisayine isivumelwano sokusebenzisana. Uma kungenzeki ukuthi sibonane ubuso-nobuso nomfundi, sisebenzisa u-Skype noma u-ZOOM,’ kuqhuba uKhoza. 

Ukholwa wukuthi imiklomelo enjenge-DTA imqoka ngoba yenza ukuthi abafundisayo bahlale bethuthukisa indlela abafundisa ngayo ukuphucula umsebenzi wabo minyaka yonke.

‘Uma iningi lalabo abafundisayo lenza kahle kuzona zonke lezi zinto, igama leNyuvesi lizohlonishwa, ithole ukuxhaswa, kwande imifundaze, abafundi abasezingeni eliphezulu basemiphakathini ehlukene,’ kusho yena. ‘Le miklomelo izosiza abafundisayo ngezinto abazenzayo ukuthi bakwazi ukuziqonda kangcono, baqonde iNyuvesi nomphakathi ukuze bakwazi ukufeza izidingo zabo, ezeNyuvesi, nezomphakathi.’

UKhoza udidiyela izinhlelo ezehlukene zokufundisa iziqu zokuqala nezelama ezokuqala, aphinde afundise futhi eluleke abenza ucwaningo kwezeMfundo, ezamaSilabhasi nezobuChwepheshe kwezeMfundo. Amaphepha akhe ocwaningo aseke ashicilelwa emabhukwini ocwaningo akuleli nawapheshea. La maphepha ocwaningo agxile ezintweni ezithinta isilabhasi nobuchwepheshe bezemfundo, abheke lapho kuhlangana khona uhlaka lokufundisa nezinkundla zobuchwepheshe.
